… we’re not just fighting an epidemic; we’re fighting an infodemic
This is a time for facts, not fear.
This is a time for rationality, not rumors.

—World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Munich Security Conference, February 15, 2020

Here is a link to the CDC Coronavirus page that is constantly updated.

There’s a lot of hysteria and panic about the coronavirus. Many of you have asked me just how worried you should be about this. Since worrying isn’t going to prevent you from getting the virus, my advice is to:

  1. Get educated about the coronavirus and how to protect yourself and your family.
  2. Get busy doing the things that will make you much less likely to be a victim.

I recommend that you read this article, but also read the following:

Simple Immune-Boosting Diet that You Can Do

What we are doing at the clinic

COVID-19 is an infectious virus similar to a cold or the flu. The challenge with this virus is that it may be contagious from a person with little to no symptoms. It also can survive for some time on surfaces.

Disinfecting:

We wipe surfaces that patients touch, and those that we touch between visits using a wet wipe rated to kill viruses.

Staff either wash their hands or use alcohol hand sanitizer between each visit.

Contagion:

If you have a fever, please call us for instructions instead of coming into the clinic. We have a system of phone consulting where we can discover what you need and quickly ship it to you, or have a family member pick it up.

If you are coughing, please be very careful to use a handkerchief or cough into your elbow. If you have a cough, let us know and we’ll get you into a room to avoid having you cough around other patients.

What we recommend that you do

The Basics:

Wash your hands for 20 seconds frequently, but always after using the restroom, before eating, and after touching another person (such as shaking hands).

Try to avoid putting your hands on door handles, shopping carts, phones, tables and countertops. If you do, don’t touch your face and wash your hands at the first opportunity.

If you’re running a fever, stay home!

It’s hard, but try not to touch your face.

Boost your Immune System:

The most important thing you can do to improve your immune response is your program with us!

  • Don’t raise your blood sugar, avoid refined sugars and don’t overeat fruit. Don’t skip meals and don’t eat milk or cream.
  • Get LOTS of sleep. Decide to improve this and change your bedtime. However much sleep you are getting, if it’s less than 7 to 8 hours, fix this! Also, make sure you’re consistent. Sleeping 8 hours on Saturday once a week isn’t going to cut it.
  • Take ALL your supplements. Remember that supplements aren’t effective unless you take the “therapeutic dosage” every 24 hours (this is the quantity on your Supplement Recommendations Form). All our programs include immune support— after all, we’re working with your body to improve its ability to heal. You’re taking vitamins, minerals and specific nutrients tailored to help your body be less stressed and heal better.
  • Come to all your visits. Acupressure treatments are amazingly effective at de-stressing your body and improving your immunity. Getting tested at your visits allows us to find things when they’re just getting started and prevent worsening.
  • Drink plenty of CLEAN water, stay hydrated.
  • Got Stress? Reduce it as much as possible. What a great excuse for just not talking to stressful people!

Research is Ongoing:

Dr. Billiot is staying on top of all the scientific reports about the coronavirus and is in touch with many other holistic practitioners and functional medicine doctors around the country. As we get reliable information on the prevention and treatment of this disease, we’ll be passing it on to you and making it available.
